AnswerAccording to the experts, the salary of a policeman depends on the tasks he accomplishes as well as the area of his work. Police officers working in a big city earn much more than those of small cities. Also, detective and investigators earn a lot more than patrol officers.
The education degree and experience also play a major role in the annual wage. Policemen with a bachelor degree who have to supervise staff earn much more than those with low degree responsabilities. You also find higher salaries among policemen working at specific tasks such as economics, drugs and crimes against government.
Data from the 1991 Census said that the average salary of a police officer in Canada is around $47 444 depending on the provinces. The highest income is in Alberta for an average of $48 308 and the lowest being in New Brunswick for a salary of $43 827. For the next few years, the salary of police officers will probably not increase much just like government salaries due to recession.
