Can Mail.yahoo.com be used to login into yahoo mail?

I log into yahoo mail through yahoo home page. However, i saw my friend today using the url mail.yahoo.com to login. Is it alright?

Good question. For general internet users, logins to Yahoo are usually through Yahoo homepage [www.yahoo.com]. We don’t know that there is some other way.
However, let us say we are looking to save some time on checking mails primarily, then there is a simpler method of accessing mail accounts and all this, without the usual rigmarole of yahoo home page. This can be achieved by typing mail.yahoo.com in the browser address bar and clicking “Enter”. Presto, you are directed to yahoo mail login screen and after login, you can view your Yahoo mail box. This is an approved method authorized by yahoo. There are no hassles around it.
