Answers to : Macromedia...
AnswerMacromedia was a North American graphics and web development software house which was founded in 1992 and headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company was famous for its two main software- Macromedia Dreamweaver and Macromedia Flash.
However, the company was completely acquired by Adobe Systems, Inc on December 3, 2005. This could be the reason, that when you search for Macromedia, the search engines return Adobe sites. The company is now fully owned by Adobe. Post acquisition, Adobe used to display Macromedia logo along with its own in flash products, but slowly removed that.
By acquiring Macromedia, Adobe has gained a major market share, because Macromedia had already acquired many companies before for flash software
