I want to know good, culinary uses for vanilla beans. How do i use them in food and what foods do they improve?

Well you can't really eat a big pile of vanilla beans like you would green beans or refried beans. They just don't go down like that and so much vanilla in one sitting could make you very sick. Crushed vanilla beans are good for a topping on plain ice cream. Grinding down some vanilla beans and mixing them with ground coffee can produce cups of coffee with a unique vanilla bite. Foods that would normally benefit from the addition of beans may not benefit from vanilla; I really must stress these beans are different from others. Lots of cookies call for some vanilla extract and there is no better vanilla then freshly mashed in your own kitchen. Get a good supply from somewhere like www.myspicesage.com and enjoy.
