Here are some tips to get a straight wooden staircase. First, choose a style. After that, you need to determine the size of your stairs and the height of the step.
The steps are generally 17 cm. But for a comfortable walk you can also try 15 cm but it is essential to have the same gap. You will also need a step of 30 cm for the foot well.
How to know how many steps you need to do?
You will have to measure the height between the level of the finished floor and the starting level and divide by 17 cm.
Example: 145 cm / 17 cm = 8.53. Whether, you opt for 9 steps of 16.11 cm or 8 steps of 18.12 cm. In this case it is preferable to build 9 steps.
The length of your stop will be either 2.40 m or 2.70 m in the case of a straight staircase wooden.
