Adobe material good choice?

I want to construct a house in south eastern north america, am looking for the right material, do you think adobe would be a good choice for such an area?

These days it is not so common to find people using adobe blocks for construction and with changes in climate there could be a possibility that adobe is not as good or is even better than it was but since new kinds of bricks and blocks are in the market, it is advisable you go for the available product. Well in those days Adobe was known to be commonly used in the Middle East and North Africa and some parts of America, so it is possible that it will work well in South Eastern North America as well.
