What are the symptoms of a thyroid gland disease? What kind of problems the dysfonction of thyroid gland can cause? Thank you for your help.

AnswerThere are two major conditions in a thyroid disease: hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Either the thyroid produces too much hormones or not enough.
In the first case the symptoms could be irritability, nervousness, accelerated heartbeat, fatigue, difficulty to support heat, difficulty to sleep, loss of weight, etc. In the second case, there might be a gain of weight, dry skin, poor memory, hair loss, difficulty concentrating, etc.
Sometimes, there are no symptoms to a hypothyroidism. If you suspect you may suffer from either one of these dysfonction of thyroid gland, you should see your doctor for more information.
