Michael jackson show cancelled?

Was it fair for the michael jackson show preparation team to get the shows cancelled, for which people had paid, i thought it was better someone stood in for the late pop star.

Of course after the death of the American pop star and world king of pop the late Michael Jackson, the shows that had taken time and money to prepare had to be cancelled. But it was reported that so many tickets had already been sold out because it was a few days before the event that the pop star suffered some health problems that terminated his life. The money couldn’t be returned to the people that had paid for the show but instead it will be used to support the deceased’s family and the rest will go to the charity organizations for which he had planned it to go earlier on before his death.
