The Calgary flames ice hockey team is a member of the northwest division of the western conference of the national hockey league. Calgary flames are the third major professional ice hockey team to represent the city of Calgary following the Calgary cowboys and Calgary tigers respectively. Calgary flames are not the original name of the club but it was after the shift from Atlanta to Calgary that the name was changed from Atlanta flames to Calgary flames. The Flames Central belongs to Calgary flames; the entertainment center was opened up in 2007.
