AnswerIt is only since January the 9th 2009 that the beta version of Windows 7 is available to the public. Internet userscan download and test the Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate), said Seven. It is free, but expires on June 10th 2010. It has 2 versions, 32-bit and 64-bit, in five languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese). You need a computer that has a processor of at least 1 GHz and a memory of 1 GB RAM (for 32-bit) / or 2 GB RAM (for 64-bit). To know the properties of the computer, you just have to click on Start / Configuration pannel/ System.
For the relative performance, as Vista had everything become too slow, Seven has the same speed as Windows XP et it would be the only real asset of Windows 7, according to users. For the rest, besides the task bar that is now bigger, Seven has the same graphic interface and functionalities than Vista, so it doesn't appear really innavative and, that, even from promises from Microsoft. Moreover, the disinstallation of that beta version would be hard for a novice. An other deception: it appears that Microsoft won't offer the licence continuity between Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Let's wish that the final version of Windows 7 will watisfy the consumers. It is important to remind that windows XP has also encountered some problems when it was released, before becoming a must after a few years of technical adjustment.
